Spring is the traditional season for weddings and with good reason. The weather is warmer without being too hot and unbearable, there are beautiful scented flowers in full bloom and our mood is refreshed with new optimism in the air.

FACE

PREBASE

If there is one day in your life you need your make up to stay put, its your wedding day! Create a flawless even complexion and increase the staying power of your make-up by applying B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel, ideal for all skin types to help balance and prime the skin, ready for make-up application.

BASE

Apply Mineral Foundation Powder - MFP4 Sunlit Peach all over the face, neck and decolletage for a flawless, natural look. To apply the mineral foundation powder it is essential to use a Kabuki Face Brush, no other brush will distribute the product evenly. It is essential to use the right brush to get that flawless glowing finish that everyone talks about with mineral make-up.

CONCEALER

Apply Mineral Concealer - Light under eyes and around the corners of the nose to conceal dark under eye circles and pigmentation. Apply Colour Corrector - Conceals redness, acne, rosacea and spider veins.

EYES

Using the Long Round - Eyeshadow Brush apply Mineral Colour - Mauve to the eye lid blending up over the crease towards the outer section of the eye. Soften the look by applying Mineral Colour - Diamond Dust from the inner eye and across the entire eye lid. Extra can be applied under brow bone to really make eyes pop!

Apply a sweep of Mineral Pencil – Black under the top lash line ensuring the line gets finer towards the nose, soften with the Slope Eyeliner Brush. Complete the eyes with two coats of Mineral Mascara - Black, curling the lashes prior to application.

BROWS

Well defined brows is essential to 'frame' your face, don’t underestimate the importance of taming unruly brows! Using feathery strokes apply Mineral Colours - Chocolate Brown or Jet Black with the Fine Angeled Brow Brush and finish by combing through in an ‘up and out’ motion to lift and tame the brow.

CHEEKS

Apply Contour Powder Blush - Pink Amethyst No.216 on the apples of the cheeks followed by Mineral Setting Powder – Angel to softly illuminate skin.

LIPS

Prep the lips by lightly exfoliating them with a Cleansing Scrub or bicarb soda to remove lifeless, rough skin cells. Follow with HYB5 Pro-Repair, it visibly helps to plump the lips, hydrating and conditioning the skin for hours. Follow with Tea Rose Mineral Lipstick No.201

Beauty Tip: To touch-up your foundation, simply use the Kabuki Face Brush to 're-buff' your foundation powder, before adding any more product.

Does your skin feel itchy?

Dry skin is uncomfortable and unsightly. It can be scaly, flaky, itchy, bumpy and drys easily. It lacks natural oils that normal skin has, or the oil doesn't stay in the skins lipid barriers long enough to keep it coated and well protected from drying out. Using moisturisers that lock in the oils keeping it hydrated, will help to improve and even heal dry skin.

Many people with dry skin find that ingredients in commercially available lotions are irritating to their delicate skin. They find themselves wondering about gentle products with natural ingredients. Could natural skin care solutions help dry skin? Here are some natural cures for extra dry skin...

Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera gel from the houseplant Aloe Vera, is a soothing lotion well known for it's cooling and healing abilities. This wonderful substance is antiseptic and anti fungal as well as being able to cool hot dry skin. The houseplant is attractive and easy to grow, but the gel is also available in many skin lotions and creams. To use the gel directly from the plant simply break off a leaf and squeeze a small amount of gel out of the broken end, or you can use a small knife to cut the outer skin of the leaf to access more of the gel. Aloe Vera is slow to go rancid, but it is best to keep the unused part of the leaf in the refrigerator and discard after a week. Aloe Vera has been found to contain ingredients that are known to stop pain and itching and it also prevents infection in cracked, raw, dry skin. If you are buying a commercially prepared lotion, what will help dry skin is to choose one that has Aloe Vera gel listed as one of the first few ingredients, many products are labeled as containing Aloe Vera, but really contain very little of it.
